summary of the event, and explain how the event demonstrates the trait you have chosen.
Example: (from ”The Marriage of King
Arthur")
Chivalry/Heroic Tradition: A Knight must be
loyal to his lady love
Summary of event: Merlin offers Arthur an opportunity
to marry a woman other than Guenevere, but Arthur refuses to look at another woman.
Connection: Arthur's refusal to consider other
women for marriage depicts him as being loyal to the woman he loves.
“The Crowning of Arthur”
1. Chivalry/Heroic Tradition:
A Knight must be loyal to his king
Summary
of event: If Arthur is to be crowned King, the Knights need to be loyal to him. The
principal of Knighthood states a Knight must be loyal.
Connection: Sir Ector is loyal when kneels before Arthur and presents him with the sword that shows Arthur is the true
King.
2. Chivalry/Heroic Tradition: A Knight must be loyal to his
lady love
Summary
of event: Uther is loyal to his wife Igraine when he disguises himself and creates his son Arthur with his wife
Connection:
Uther does not have any other relationships with any other women besides his wife
“The
Adventures of Sir Launcelot”
1. Chivalry/Heroic Tradition:
A knight must use his strength and skills to aid ladies in distress
Summary
of event: Sir Launcelot helps a lady in distress release her father and keeps her word true to her
Connection: he helps this woman in distress and uses
the heroic principle of honor, one of the principles of Knighthood
2. Chivalry/Heroic Tradition: A knight must be generous to
all, courageous in the face of the enemy, and prepared to die for his country
Summary
of event: Sir Launcelot fights to vindicate the honor of the knights of the Round Table and prisoners
Connection: Sir Launcelot is courageous in the heat of battle and is loyal to his fellow Knights
Part B: Provide information on each character’s family
background, and any significant actions or events associated with them.

The son of King Uther. Arthur is he King of England by birth
and by his act of removing the sword from the stone.
2. Gwynevere
Arthur's wife.
3. Igraine
Duke of Tintigail wife, the mother of King Arthur.
4. Uther Pendragon
Arthur's father who unifies England, but loses control after he uses Merlin's magic to seduce Igraine, the wife of the Duke of Tintigail.
5. Merlin
A wizard and chief counselor to King Arthur.
6. Morgan le Fay
King Arthur's half-sister and an enchantress.
7. Sir Launcelot
Arthur's best knight; has an adulterous affair with Guenevere
and which sets of the beginning of end for Camelot.
8. Duke of Tintigail
Husband of Igraine.
9. Leodegrance of Camilyard
Guenevere's father and keeper of the Round Table, which he
gives to Arthur as a wedding present .
10. Sir Ector
Father of Sir Kay and guardian of Arthur, the future King of
England.
11. Sir Kay
A young man who wants to go to London to try to remove the sword from the stone; Arthur's
step-brother.
